Henry W. Karsten

Henry W. Karsten, 38, Cloquet, Minn., died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview in Minneapolis, Minn. He was born on June 13, 1973, in Milaca, Minn. Henry graduated from Foley High School and later worked for Crystal Cabinets in Princeton, Minn., for 10 years. On May 15, 2004, Henry married Jody Gorham in Moose Lake, Minn. They lived in Split Rock Township and later moved to Cloquet where Henry worked at Sappi Fine Paper. Henry loved spending time with his family and was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, camping and four-wheeling. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jody; three children, Tyler, Trevor and Amanda; his mother, Selena (Mike) Carlson of Sturgeon Lake, Minn.; his father, William (Rolina) Karsten of Pease, Minn.; nine siblings, Sheldon (Kim) Gallmeier of Pine City. Dorrie (Larry) Goetzke of Milaca, Laura Carpenter of Foreston, Mikki (AJ) Fox of Twin Lake, Mich., Jessica (Jon) Anderson of Willmar, Lisa (Kent) Lestrud of Princeton, Lynette (Jeff) Kuzel of Pine City, Connie (Dan) Schulz of Mora and Kathy (Jake) Mattila of Healy, Alaska; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dave and Pat Gorham of Princeton; and many nieces, nephews and a great-niece.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Hope Lutheran Church. Wendy Hjelmberg, AMI, officiated.
