Genevieve 'Gen' Gebault

Genevieve "Gen" S. Gebault, 100, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born July 30, 1911, in Cloquet to Eldon and Willa Mae Spoor. Gen graduated from Cloquet High School in 1927. On Nov. 8, 1935, she married Harold Gebault. Gen worked as a bookkeeper for the Cloquet Creamery for 23 years and at First Bank in the Insurance Department for 21 years. After retiring she continued to work for the bank on a part-time basis for another 11 years.

Gen was a member of the Presbyterian Church, VFW Auxiliary where she served as treasurer, American Legion Auxiliary, Senior Citizens where she was also the treasurer, the Carlton County Historical Society, and was a volunteer bookkeeper of Meals on Wheels. Gen enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold.

Gen is survived by two brothers, James Spoor of Glendale, Ariz., and Donald (Alyce) Spoor of Cloquet; three nieces; and her very special friends, Paula Mackai of Cloquet and Mary Lippo of Brainerd, Minn.

It was Gen's wish to have no services. She will be interred with her husband, Harold, in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
