Eileen Maxine Sparring
Eileen M. Sparring, 88, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. She was born July 4, 1923, in Cloquet to Oscar Bert and Gena (Tveit) Johnson and graduated from Floodwood High School. She loved square dancing, sewing, knitting and crocheting, and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Holger; two brothers, Alvin and John; and three sisters, Elma, Marion and Beverly.
She is survived by two sons, LeRoy (Susan) Sparring and Donald (Carol) Sparring, both of Cloquet; two daughters, Karen Manni of Columbia, S.C., and Janet (John) Poldoski of Duluth, Minn.; two sisters, Betty (Tony) Raich of Meadowlands, Minn., and Mary (Robert) Sillanpaa of Ripon, Wis.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 17, from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, followed by refreshments in the fellowship room. Entombment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park in Hermantown, Minn.
