Junior D. Connor, 86, originally of Wrenshall, Minn., passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at his daughter's home in Stockton, Calif., after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 19, 1925, in Wrenshall. Junior lived his entire life in Wrenshall and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Junior worked at Conwed Corporation in Cloquet, Minn., for 20-plus years, was an independent long haul truck driver during the construction of the Alaska Pipeline and later drove truck for Conoco Oil Refinery in Wrenshall. Junior was talented in many ways and enjoyed wood crafting, gardening, reading and could fix anything that needed fixing. He was a man who truly loved and enjoyed his family and made a point of knowing and loving his grandchildren.
Junior is loved and missed by his surviving and loving wife of 63 years, Christel; son Michael and wife Donna; daughter Marcia and husband Chuck; son Steven and wife Juvie; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
The family of Junior will have a private memorial service with military honors in Stockton, Calif.
