Sherman K. Johnson, 90, of Cloquet, Minn., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 in Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet.
Sherman K. Johnson, 90, of Cloquet, Minn., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 in Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet. He was born in 1920 in Cloquet and served in the Army Air Force for 4 ½ years during World War II. Sherman worked for Potlatch Corporation for 32 ½ years and retired at the age of 58 due to health reasons. He was a member of Potlatch Quarter Century Club and was an active member of Grace Baptist Church where he enjoyed serving in many various positions throughout the years. Sherman enjoyed sports, reading, gardening and good music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew P. and Hilda Johnson, and one sister, Dorothy (Howard) Anderson.
Sherman is survived by his wife, Hannah of Cloquet; two nieces, three nephews and their families.
The family is thankful for the care given at Carlton Place and to Pastor Doug Green, their family and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Burial will be in Sandy Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Mission Fund.
