Bernice Susanna Olson

Bernice S. Olson, 90, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at the Lighthouse Assisted Living in Cloquet. She was born March 20, 1920, in Royalton, Minn., to Paul and Caroline (Burggraff) Trettel. Bernice graduated from Cloquet High School in 1938 and was united in marriage to Raymond Olson on June 2, 1940, in Cloquet.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Olson; grandson, Timothy Olson; three brothers and two nephews.

She is survived by sons, Larry (Susan) Olson of Gilbert, Minn., Dennis (Roberta) Olson of Cloquet, Dale Olson of Indian Valley, Idaho, and Kris (Sherrie) Olson of Cloquet; daughters, Karen Nelson of Duluth, Minn., and Wendy (Dale) Gilbertson of Woodenville, Wash.; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Cyril (Charlene) Trettel; one sister, Elizabeth Beck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at New Calvary Cemetery. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet, 218-879-3225, to assist them with arrangements. See their online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
