Caryl H. Lawson, 94, of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, July 9, 2010, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn.

Caryl H. Lawson, 94, of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, July 9, 2010, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born Dec. 25, 1915, in Clinton, Iowa, to Albert and Caroline Holm. Caryl married Richard Lawson on June 2, 1934, in Clinton. They moved to Morgan Park in 1941 and in 1948 to Esko, Minn. Together they owned and operated a grocery store and gas station in Esko until 1956. Then they owned the Rendezvous until 1963 when they retired. Caryl was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge 256 in Cloquet. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

Caryl was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; six brothers and sisters, Albert, Edger, Arthur and Harry Holm, Mildred Huebner and Marion Anderson; an infant son; a grandson, Cory Lawson; a granddaughter, Lynn Babcock; and her son-in-law, John Hagenah.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Hagenah of Cloquet; two sons, Richard (Linda) of Cloquet and Raymond (Cheryl Bednarek) of Wright, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Sorensen of Cloquet.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 13, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Carlton. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow at the Moose Lodge in Cloquet.
