Louise Violet Chapin, 87, of Cloquet, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, in St. Eligius Health Center in Duluth, Minn.
Louise Violet Chapin, 87, of Cloquet, Minn., died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, in St. Eligius Health Center in Duluth, Minn. She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Hurley, Wis., to ArcAngelo and Josephine Seppi. She attended Stowe School and graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1942. On June 21, 1947, she married Ralph Chapin in Superior, Wis., and they made their home in Duluth. In 1972 they moved to Cloquet. Louise was a pharmacy clerk for 21 years. She also worked at Hardees during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Louise was an active member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Cloquet VFW Auxiliary.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and one brother, Enos Seppi.
She is survived by her son, Ralph (Sue) Chapin Jr. of Duluth; daughter, Carolyn Chapin of Cloquet; brother, Ernest Seppi of Duluth; sister, Jeanne (Chet) Thomas of Duluth; four grandchildren, Angela, Jamie, Stephanie, and Carrie; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Eligius for the wonderful care they gave to Louise.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3, from 11 a.m. until the noon Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 102 Fourth St., Cloquet. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the church social hall. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
