Michael Wayne Washenesky, 55, of Blackhoof, Minn., passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at his home.

Michael Wayne Washenesky, 55, of Blackhoof, Minn., passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1954, in Duluth to Wayne and Clariece (Garthus) Washenesky and graduated from Wrenshall High School. Mike loved vintage snowmobile runs, demolition derbies, his precious granddaughter, and life in Blackhoof. He served his country in the United States Army and worked for Sappi in Cloquet.

Mike is survived by two sons, Mike (Robin) Washenesky and Nate Washenesky, both of Cloquet; three sisters, Cindy (Dave Crowe) Washenesky and Debra Washenesky of Wrenshall, Minn., and Constance(Richard) Ekholm of Cloquet, Minn.; one brother, Randy Washenesky; a granddaughter, Taryn Washenesky; numerous nieces and nephews; two puppy dogs, Maggie May and Jakie; and many friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 6 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments.
