Gladys B. Elston, 77, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, in Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet, Minn.
Gladys B. Elston, 77, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, in Community Memorial Hospital, Cloquet, Minn. She was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Duluth, Minn., to Lawrence and Mabel (Derby) Denzler. Gladys had a passion for sports and reading. She retired from the Inter-Faith Health Care Center with over 30 years of service as a nurse. Prior to nursing, she worked for Diamond Match in Cloquet for 20 years.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Haluptzok, siblings Marge Micke and Robert Denzler, and grandchildren Scott Elston and Jacob Lambert.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel; children, Sherrie (Dean) Craft, Caramel Lambert and Maverick (Tanya) Elston; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Denzler; many nieces, nephews and other family; and her faithful companion, Radar.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 5, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service in Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave., Cloquet. Spring interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery. There will be a lunch immediately following the service in the funeral home fellowship room.
