Debra L. (Parker) Megard

Debra L. (Parker) Megard, 48, formerly of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at the Dell Rapids Hospital.

Debra L. (Parker) Megard, 48, formerly of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at the Dell Rapids Hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1961, in Duluth, Minn., to Guy and Lulla (Butzin) Parker. She grew up and received her education in Cloquet, graduating from high school there. She lived in various communities and held various jobs throughout the years. Debra graduated from National American University and was attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and gardening. Debra also enjoyed her horses and belonged to the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Paint Horse Association.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guy, and her brother Charles.

Grateful for having shared her life are five daughters, Melissa Nelson (Mike) of Watertown, S.D., Kelly Buckland (Wayne Williams) of Gold Greek, Mont., Cristina Silva (Anthony) of Aurora, S.D., Katie Solem (Brock Van Damme) of Brookings, and Jessica Solem (Chris Haugen) of Brookings; nine grandchildren; her mother, Lulla Parker of Cloquet; her siblings, Bonnie Jones (Woody), Gary Parker (Missy), all of Carlton, Minn., Steven Parker (Lori) of Foley, Minn., and Scott Parker of Pike Lake, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews including a very close nephew, Chris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 31, in Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings, S.D., officiated by the Rev. Rick Wipf. Organist was LeeAnn Meyer and soloist was Missy Parker. Lunch and fellowship followed at the funeral home.

Michael & Connie Micke We are so sorry for your loss. I knew Debra briefly, but she seemed very nice and also a loving mother.
