Phyllis Leona Louze, 74, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Sunnyside Health Care in Cloquet.
Phyllis Leona Louze, 74, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Sunnyside Health Care in Cloquet. She was born June 17, 1935, in Atwood, Kan., to Verl and Lucillie (Ginther) Magner. Phyllis moved to Cloquet from Thief River Falls, Minn., in 1953 and worked as a LPN at Nopeming Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Phyllis was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross, and several quilting clubs.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eugene Magner; and one sister, Betty Christiansen.
She is survived by a very special friend, Kenneth Tamillo; one son, Steve (Brenda) Louze; two daughters, Barb (Mike) Loisel and Sharri (Mike) Mitchell, all of Cloquet; one sister, JoAnn (John) Abruscato of Wheaton, Ill.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. The visitation will resume Saturday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment services will be at New Calvary Cemetery. Luncheon will follow in the church social hall.
