Richard "Dick" Dean Rubesh

Richard "Dick" Dean Rubesh, 64, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn.

Richard "Dick" Dean Rubesh, 64, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minn. He was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Carlton to Anton and Bessie (Hanson) Rubesh and was a lifelong Carlton resident. Dick was united in marriage to Deborah Menart in Duluth on Dec. 18, 1971. He worked as a dust line technician for Conwed Corporation and U.S.G. Interiors. Dick was also a dairy and beef farmer and raised cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli that he sold at the Scanlon farmers market. He also loved antique cars, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and visiting with friends and going out for breakfast. Most especially he loved spending time with his family.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Helen Menart.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; three sons, Jeremy (Melanie), Michael (Jody Laine) and Daniel (Tina Schubitzke), all of Carlton; three brothers, Robert (Grace) of Hoyt Lakes, Minn., Norman (Cindy) and Vernie (Joyce), both of Cloquet; one sister, Darlene Rubesh of Duluth; eight grandchildren, Brian, Kristin, Branden, Makayla, Colton, Caitlyn, Joseph and Laura; father-in-law, Stanley Menart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Nelson Funeral Care, Cloquet. The visitation will resume Friday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Bethesda Lutheran in Carlton. Interment service will be at Hillside Cemetery, followed by a luncheon and time of fellowship in the church social hall.
