Ronald E. Ketchum, 51, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn.

Ronald E. Ketchum, 51, of Carlton, Minn., passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minn. He was born Nov. 6, 1958, in Duluth to Harold and Clara Ketchum and graduated from Proctor High School in Proctor, Minn. Ron was united in marriage to Day Linda Hill on Sept. 26, 1997. He was employed as a nursing assistant at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton for over 20 years. Ron had worked at the Hacienda Del Sol restaurant in Duluth where he learned to love cooking Mexican food. He also loved fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and was known to be a jokester.

Ron was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Bob.

He is survived by his wife, Day Linda Ketchum; his mother, Clara Ketchum of Cloquet; two brothers, Randy Ketchum of Cloquet and Roger Ketchum of Duluth; a niece, Jen (Kevin) Anderson of Cloquet and her children, Jasmine Eastman, Brady Anderson and McKenna Anderson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 27, from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the Carlton VFW Post.
