William Raisanen, 87, of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Golden Oaks, Proctor, Minn.
William Raisanen, 87, of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, in Golden Oaks, Proctor, Minn. He was born in 1922 in Esko, Minn., to Erick and Kaisa Raisanen. William married Avis Grossklaus on Feb. 27, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Avis; grandson, Jason Raisanen; and several brothers and sisters.
William is survived by his five children, Willy (Sandy) Raisanen of Barnum, Minn., Jim (Karen) Raisanen of Melmo, Minn., Rick (Sharon) Raisanen of Quamba, Minn., Mary (Dale) Kantola of Cloquet and Beth (Paul) Thompson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with two great-grandchildren to arrive soon; a sister, Eva Johnson of Cloquet; and a very special friend, Velda Beck of Cloquet.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Zion Lutheran Church, 1000 Washington Ave., Cloquet.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
