"Pete the Plumber"
Ramon K. Pederson, 81, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. He was born June 27, 1928, in Cloquet, Minn. to Harry and Viola (Swanson) Pederson.
Pete married Darlyne Johnson on Jan. 5, 1952. He started his plumbing career with his father, Harry, under "Sunnyside Plumbing & Heating". After Harry retired, Pete worked with Clark Plumbing & Heating for a short time before going on his own and running the business from his garage where he served many local businesses and residents in the Cloquet and surrounding area. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vi; his wife, Darl in 1994; son, Jeff in 1956; and his father and mother-in-law Carl and Vi Johnson. He is survived by his sons, Kim, Greg, Jay and Tim Pederson, all of Cloquet; his daughter, Kelly Johnson (Gary Maki) of Cloquet; brother, John "Jack" (Lorlie) Pederson of Kankakee, Ill.; sister, Connie (Gary) Burdick of S.D.; brother-in-law, Carl "Bud" Johnson of Bishop, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume Monday, Nov. 16, from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Refreshments will follow in the social hall. Inurnment will be at Pine River Cemetery at a later date. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet to assist them with arrangements.
