Throat singers Etok and Segalowitz

Throat singers Lydia Etok (left) and Nina Segalowitz break up in laughter at the end of one of their throating singing contest. Some throat songs are friendly competitions where the singers try to make each other laugh. Etok, of Kangiqsualujjaq, Quebec, and Segalowitz, of Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, performed Nunavik-style throat singing Friday at Siiviis Gallery in Canal Park. Etok lost most of their matches Friday. (Bob King / rking@duluthnews.com)
