Carolyn Treacy-Bramante

Members of the Cloquet Ski Club and their parents practice their target shooting Sunday afternoon at the invitation of Phil Rogers, an area biathlon enthusiast who is currently helping last year’s Nordic skiing state champion Raleigh Goessling train for competition at a higher level. An even higher profile biathlon star, Duluth’s Carolyn Treacy-Bramante, came and introduced Ski Club members and others to the winter sport, demonstrating how she would ski a course and stop and shoot from both a standing and prone position. Treacy-Bramante is on the U.S. biathlon team and competed in the 2006 Olympics. Pictured shooting (or helping), from front to back, are Phil Rogers, Tyler Mattson, Carolyn Treacy-Bramante, Aidan Ripp, Pat Marciniak and Lori Strand. Jana Peterson/jpeterson@pinejournal.com
