On Feb. 8, Fr. Rick Banker, pastor of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet, celebrated the feast of St. Francis at the weekly children's Mass with a special blessing of the animals. St. Francis, well known as the patron saint of animals, taught respect and responsibility for all of God's creatures. Several furry friends of the children of Queen of Peace, including dogs and rabbits, received the special blessing.
