Kate Shelerud

Esko sophomore Kate Shelerud ( second from right) begins to pass Savana Weller of Sauk Centre in the 800-meter run at the 2010 MSHSL Track and Field Championships, held last weekend at Hamline University in St. Paul. Shelerud finished the race in 2 minutes, 15.59 seconds to claim the title and the gold medal, edging Weller by just .18 seconds. Esko sent a whole contingent of athletes to compete at the state meet, but Barnum, Carlton and Cromwell-Wright were also represented in Class A as well. Contributed Photo
