Cloquet resident Oscar Arreola, 15, shadow boxes Monday at Kokusai Boxing Academy located at Steve Inyan Mata's home on 10th Street in Cloquet. The program started just over a year ago and three teens are already competing in boxing matches around the area. During his training, Inyan Mata guides Arreola while yelling out sayings such as: "Show 'em your milk-and-cookies, your peanut butter-and-jelly, your shake-and-bake." Inyan Mata uses the terms so his boxers know which punch-and-jab combos to throw without their opponents also knowing. "We get laughed at, but it works," said Inyan Mata Monday in his gym.
