Gene Paul DeasyGene Paul Deasy, 71, of Lewiston, Idaho, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at his home in Lewiston. Gene was born in Lewiston on Aug. 28, 1942, to Robert and Cecile Deasy, the youngest of four boys: Dale, Ray and Clifford. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1960. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964. He attended the University of Idaho and graduated with an accounting degree. On Aug. 9, 1969, he was united in marriage to Holly Rae Williams. Over the course of their marriage they made their home in Clarkston, Wash., American Samoa, Lewiston, and Cloquet, Minn. Gene was employed by Potlatch in Lewiston, Samoa and Cloquet from 1971 to 1996. He returned to Lewiston with Holly and their oldest son, Sean, in 1994. His hobbies included playing the stock market, writing editorial pieces for local newspapers (he coined the term "Citizen Moodey" to describe a previous Pine Knot op-eder), electronics, genealogy, metal detecting, and music.
