A Level 3 predatory offender has moved into the 6700 block of Pease Avenue in Wright.
David Edward Nikko, 43, has a history of sexual contact with female victims ages 5-9. He served time in prison after pleading guilty in 2007 to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor for incidents that occurred several years earlier. Nikko was known to his victims at the time of the incidents, and contact involved fondling and penetration.
The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office planned a community notification meeting for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Cromwell-Wright School Auditorium to inform the community that Nikko moved to the area on Aug. 30.
Sheriff Kelly Lake stressed that Nikko is not currently wanted by police and has served the sentence imposed upon him by the court. Due to the degree of his offense, however, he is mandated to register as a Level 3 predatory offender and law enforcement must notify the public when he moves into a new area.
Nikko is described as white, six feet in height, 280 pounds, with a fair complexion, blue eyes, brown hair and large build.
He was released from prison on June 25, 2013, and is currently under supervised probation.
