A second suspect was charged in Carlton County Court Thursday after allegedly robbing two teenage boys of their shoes, wallets and a cell phone Aug. 18 when they were walking down a street in central Cloquet.
Cody Logan Fohrenkam, 21, was charged Thursday with felony simple robbery, joining co-defendant Kamal Jamalludin Fardan, who was charged the day before.
According to the criminal complaint:
At approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, two juvenile boys ages 14 and 15 were walking down Doddridge Avenue near Washington Elementary when they were approached by two adult males who got out of a car and demanded the boys turn over the personal property in their pockets as well as the shoes they were wearing. The suspects threatened physical harm if the teenagers did not comply. The boys turned over their tennis shoes, a cell phone and their wallets.
It isn’t Fohrenkam’s first time in court. His criminal record includes 2010 charges of felony fifth-degree drug possession, felon in possession of a firearm and several less serious charges in Hennepin County. In Carlton County, he pleaded guilty to second-degree arson in January of this year and was sentenced to 23 months in prison, a sentence the judge stayed and placed Fohrenkam on three years probation instead.
Because of the probation violation, no bail was set for Fohrenkam. Both he and Fardan will appear next in court on Sept. 4.
