Pastor Chris Hill has accepted the call to serve as senior pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Cloquet. He will be installed on Sunday, Sept. 15, by Bishop Tom Aitkin.
Hill said he enjoys shaping diverse worship events that involve active leadership and participation from the congregation. He indicated his worship style includes a mix of text, music, cultural references, humor and Biblical resources, as well as drawing deeply from Lutheran tradition.
An active leader of youth and family ministry, Hill encourages synod and national youth gatherings, mission trips, Bible camp and training to be leaders in their church.
Hill and his wife, Sandy, have two adult children and are involved in a variety of activities, including camping, motorcycle trips, skiing, scuba and hiking. Hill and his wife have both served on a number of teams for Via de Cristo, a combined effort of lay people and clergy working toward renewal of the church and based on a highly structured three-day weekend program.
The public is invited to join in welcoming the Hills during summer worship at 9:30 a.m. or, starting Sept. 8, at the traditional service at 8:30 a.m. or the contemporary service at 10:45 a.m.
