The Wrenshall Board of Education's Committee of the Whole meeting was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013
Discussion regarding the position of District Office Administrative Assistant. Board member Kuhlmey suggested that this position have a 1-year contract with an annual evaluation to determine where, if any, changes are to be made and to determine salary increase as warranted.
Dick Tracy was presented and provided a handout outlining his Health & Safety Proposal Safety Plan. Also included in the handout was a summary of his experience.
Superintendent Belcastro provided the proposed job description of the Technology Director position along with a breakdown of the financial impact on the District for this position. It is proposed that this position be .7 Technology Director and .3 Integration Specialist.
Superintendent Belcastro provided the proposed job description of the Dean of Students position. Discussion included the need to post the position for applicants.
Anna Baciak and Amanda Gustafson presented to the board their ideas for an expanded pre-school program, emphasizing the positive impact it could have on the children enrolled in preparation for kindergarten. A handout was provided.
Superintendent provided the board with suggestions for the custodial department's summer projects. Board members had additional suggestions to be added to the list. The board requested that there be .beginning and start dates for each project.
Discussion regarding Snow Days resulted in the decision to forgive the days that students missed along with 2 of the days for staff members. The additional (2) snow days will be made up by staff members in August.
Principal Frank provided a list of reasons why students have left the district.
