This is the time of many class reunions. I have a very special one this year, too. Yes, the Cromwell High School Class of 1963 will celebrate their 50th Class Reunion on Saturday, July 20, at the Black Bear Casino Resort at 6 p.m. The group will meet at the buffet and then get together in a separate room. All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend and invitations will go out soon.
The Classes of 1955 and 1956 will hold their annual get-together on July 19 at 1 p.m. at the Cromwell Country Inn. Please RSVP to Alice at 218-357-2721 or Shirley at 218-879-2784.
Wrong Days Buttons are now available, so just look at area businesses for them. I know the Farmer’s Co-op Store has them for sure.
The next Co-op Store Board meeting will be held on June 19 at 11 a.m. The new board members appointed at the last meeting are Danny Smith and Andy LaMotte. The annual meeting will be held in August. No date has been set at this time.
The Carlton County Retired Educators will meet in Cromwell at the Country Inn on Tuesday, June 25, at 11:30 a.m. They will have a meal and then move to the Park Pavilion for their meeting and a talk and demonstration on the Carlton County Mounted Posse. They will also sign up for working at the Little Red School House at the fair in Barnum. Please try to attend. Visitors are also welcome.
Lindsay Lally and the Cromwell Area Historical Club is looking for information on the Ben Vassinoia/Sigrid Morris home. Photos would really be helpful so they can update the area collection.
The next Senior Dance at the Pavilion in Cromwell will be on June 27 from 1-4 p.m. with Florian Chmielewski providing the music.
Vacation Bible School will be held this year July 22-25 from 9 a.m. to noon. at Bethany Lutheran.
The Habitat for Humanity Bike Ride will make a stop in Cromwell at Bethany Lutheran July 18-19. Bethany will provide an evening meal on July 18 and Bethlehem will provide the breakfast on July 19. This is also the day of Wrong Days in Wright, so it will be a busy weekend for all involved.
Wrong Days will be on July 19 and 20, so mark your calendars now. More details to follow, but buttons are available in area businesses.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Drang as she will celebrate her 101st birthday on June 29. She is living at Villa Vista in Cromwell. Please feel free to send her a card of congratulations for this special event in her life.
You can also join the residents at Villa Vista and Cardinal Court for cribbage on Mondays at 1:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 6 p.m., Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and for tournament play on the last Tuesday at 6 p.m. Bingo takes place on the third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. All games are in the Cardinal Court Activity Room.
A wonderful event was held for Steve Hallgren on June 5 in Duluth. This was an Open House to honor the Thrivent career of this great man! Steve and his whole family want to thank everyone who attended or sent cards. He is truly grateful for you all and this night will be a great memory for all who were able to attend.
The Thrivent Annual Potluck Picnic will be held Wednesday, July 10, at St. Matthew’s in Esko starting at 5 p.m. Meat, buns and beverages will be provided, so bring a dish to share. All utensils will also be provided. Each member is asked to bring a guest.
