It turned out to be a nice day, overcast and with a cool breeze, the sun peeping out once in a while for the ninth annual Memorial Day Wiffleball Tournament in Cloquet’s Erickson Acres neighborhood.
Co-directors Eric Peterson and Tyler Korby put
in about 25 hours over the previous three days preparing for Monday’s fun-filled event, including mowing, organizing teams and adding a third field this year.
A total of 36 teams competed — with more than 140 participants — in games from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christian Pritchett, Josh Pritchett and Hunter Roberts won the championship trophy.
The B&B Lunch Wagon kept the record crowd fed as people of all ages milled about either watching, participating or socializing.
All in all, it was a relaxing day of fun, food, friends and family.
