Mary Loery Sauve, 81, of Carlton, Minn., formerly of Cloquet, Minn., died Friday, March 29, 2013, in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. She was born in 1932 in Aitkin County, the daughter of Gust and Gertrude Watson. Mary married John Horner in 1948 and later married Pete Sauve in 1971. She retired from Nopeming Nursing Home after many years of service as a nursing assistant. Mary was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Scanlon and a former member of the Eagles. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Horner; husband, Pete Sauve; five brothers; and two sisters.
Mary was loved and will always be remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Lola (Paul) Davidson of Moose Lake, Minn., and Pamela (Michael) Ekholm and Julie (Jim) Johanson, both of Cloquet; sister, Maybelle Christensen of Canon City, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank St. Luke’s Hospice and the staff of Inter-Faith Care Center for their tender loving care.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 4, from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet, followed by a luncheon served in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Entombment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Hermantown, Minn.
