The regular meeting of the board of directors of the Farmer’s Co-op Store met at the store on Wednesday, March 20, at 11 a.m. There were several interested members of the community in attendance. Since one board member was not in attendance and two others have resigned, the meeting was not official, but it was very informative. There were many questions and concerns. Interim manager Terri Lott and I, as board chair, addressed these issues and concerns. Notes were made on any future actions that will be taken up at the next meeting. Then, on Friday, I spent five hours at the store pouring over the previous meeting minutes and found many interesting facts. One of the suggestions from the community was that the number of board members go back to seven members instead of the five at the present time. But, after finding the decision at the 1995 and 1996 annual meetings to reduce the members to five, this will not be possible, as it would need to be presented at the next annual meeting in August and again at the meeting in 2014 to be voted on for this to be done. The board will choose from the three applications for the board at the next meeting. Those who have given the board a letter of intent to serve on the board by the March 15 deadline are Andy LaMotte, Jerri Haugan and Danny Smith. If you have any further questions or concerns, please direct them to me at 218-357-2385 or at my email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may also notice that the lid on the dumpster at the Co-op has been chained down and security cameras will be put up so no more dumping can be made by unauthorized area folks. These actions had to be made due to the increased use of this dumpster by unauthorized people.
