Brian "BP" Paarni

Brian "BP" Paarni, 60, passed away in his home Wednesday, March 12, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Cloquet, Minn., and graduated from Cloquet High School in 1970. Brian worked for Potlatch/Sappi Fine Paper for 30-plus years and had worked in the pulp mill fiber line most recently. He was an active member of the USW Local Union #1163 and was member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Brian served in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller from 1978-82.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Faye Paarni.

He is survived by his sisters, Gayl (Floyd) Illikainen and Clare (Todd) Proulx; six nieces and nephews; and uncle, aunts, cousins and many friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 16, in Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet. A time of fellowship and lunch will follow at the Cloquet Labor Temple.
