The folks who attend the Tamarack or Round Lake Presbyterian churches will have a joint service on Sunday, March 17, at the Round Lake Church at their 9:30 a.m. service. The purpose of the service is to hear from a pastor who may be able to serve both churches in the future. All members are encouraged to attend. There will be no service in Tamarack at the 11 a.m. time on March17.

Leo Dahlberg celebrated his 79th birthday at the Cardinal Court party room on March 2 with many family and friends in attendance. He would like to thank all who attended or sent him cards. He also appreciates the many visits he has gotten since moving to Villa Vista. Feel free to stop in for a visit and if he is sleeping – wake him up! He says he can sleep anytime!

Our sympathy to the family of Marjorie Marie Phipps, 69, of Cromwell who died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. Visitation is from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Friday, March 8, in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.

Rozzie J. Dahlman Obando wants to let you all know of some good news that some of you knew, but she was waiting to hear back about. Rozzie is going to start a new job as the library media specialist in Richfield Middle School. She has loved working in Roseville, but the time had come for her to have a full-time job. She is very excited to be working in a middle school! Richfield Middle School is 40 percent Hispanic so she is really looking forward to using her Spanish and connecting with students.

The Lenten soup supper schedule is as follows: March 13 at Methodist and March 20 at Bethany. Soup will be served at 6 p.m., with worship to follow at 7 p.m. in these churches. St. John’s will have Lenten services at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays until Easter.

Thank you to the Cromwell-Wright community for donating money to the “Pennies for Patients.” We raised $640.75! Congratulations to the elementary for exceeding their goal!

Congratulations to Olivia Warpula and Emily DelMarie Warpula for making the speech team finals at Bemidji. Olivia earned eighth place in “Humor” and Emily earned fifth place in “Creative.” Cheyenne Lemm, Hunter Rauvola, Kayle Johnson, Lenore Collman and Emily DelMarie Warpula were honorable red ribbon winners in their categories. The speech team earned 11th place with over 500 speakers and 27 schools competing in Bemidji. Our team did extremely well for a huge meet!

Thank you to all of you who have been collecting “Box Tops For Education.” Please turn in any box tops you have so far. Box tops do have an expiration date so turn them in often. Please remember we also collect Land O’Lakes milk caps, Campbell’s “Labels for Education,” pop tabs, pop cans and ink cartridges. Thank you to all for your recycling!

Dollars for Scholars applications have been handed out. If you did not receive one, please see Mrs. Brekke. Please note that Dollars For Scholars Applications are due Friday, March 22. They should be handed in to Mrs. Brekke as stated in the instructions. If you have any questions, call extension 2146.

The class of 2013 voted and it has been decided that any senior who has not turned in their wallet size graduation photo by March 15 will be charged $5 additional for their yearbook and the yearbook staff will print the photos for the traditional wall hanging. If you still need to turn in your wallet-size graduation photo, please have it to the senior advisor by March 15. Thanks to all of you who have already taken care of this.

Yearbooks are now on sale. Yearbooks are $45 per book. Order soon as quantities are limited.

The Area Clothing Depot is in need of clean useable clothing and housewares. Please bring them on days the Depot is open: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Seniors and parents who are planning graduation parties and would like to use the Cromwell Sno-Gophers clubhouse in Cromwell will be happy to hear there will be the same reasonable rate as past years. Call Dawn Lippo at 218-644-3638 for more details and booking.
