The next meeting for Wrong Days will be on March 12 at 6 p.m. at the Fire Hall.

The Lenten Soup Supper schedule is as follows: March 6 at Bethlehem; March 13 at Methodist; and March 20 at Bethany. Soup will be served at 6 p.m. with worship to follow at 7 p.m. in these churches.

St. John’s will have Lenten services at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays until Easter.

Seniors and their parents who are planning graduation parties and would like to use the Cromwell Sno-Gophers Clubhouse in Cromwell will be happy to hear they have the same reasonable rate as past years. Call Dawn Lippo at 218-644-3638 for more details and booking.

The dumpster at the Farmer’s Co-op Store is being misused. There are too many folks dumping their garbage in the store’s dumpster without permission. If you are guilty of dumping your garbage there, please STOP! There are times when there isn’t even enough room for the store’s garbage with all the other dumping going on.

The Area Clothing Depot will have winter coats for 50 cents and sweaters for 25 cents each on Feb. 28 and March 2. There is no limit. They are in need of clean useable clothing and housewares. Please bring on days they are open – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The next Triad meeting will be March 6 at 10 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. All area seniors are welcome to attend and check out this group. There are between 20 and 30 folks from around the county who attend and our own Sheriff Kelly Lake is also the state president of Triad.

Calling all box top collectors: Thank you to all of you who have been collecting Box Tops For Education. Please turn in any box tops now to the school. Box tops do have an expiration date, so please turn them in often. They also collect Land O’Lakes milk caps, Campbell’s Labels for Education, pop tabs, pop cans and ink cartridges. Thank you to all for your recycling!

Dollars for Scholars applications have been handed out. If you did not receive one, please see Mrs. Brekke. Dollars For Scholars applications are due Friday, March 22 and should be handed in to Mrs. Brekke as stated in the instructions. If you have any questions, call extension 2146.

The class of 2013 voted and it has been decided that any senior who has not turned in their wallet-size graduation photo by March 15 will be charged $5 additional for their yearbook, and the yearbook staff will print the photos for the traditional wall hanging. If you still need to turn in your wallet-size photo, please have it to the senior advisor by March 15.

Don’t know the snowmobile trails very well? Looking for someone to ride with? Or do you just want to have some old fashioned family fun? Come along with the Cromwell Sno-Gophers Snowmobile Club Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m. for a local ride. Please contact Tina at 218-644-3903 if you have any questions or would like to go.

Our sympathy to the family and friends of Fred Tootle of Tamarack, who died about a month ago. We don’t have any other information at this time so if anyone does, please let me know. He will be missed around the cribbage tables.

Jewell Marie Cole (Groth), 88, of Solana Beach, Calif., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Solana Beach. She was born on May 6, 1924, in Wright. A funeral for Jewell was held on Feb. 20, in Solana Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jewell’s name to Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org) or Food for Others (foodforothers.org).

Due to the recent resignation of two Co-op store board members, there are openings for the board. If you are interested in serving on the board, please submit a letter of intent and your reasons for wanting to serve on the board. For the current board to make an educated decision on new members, we are asking for a brief resume of past and current education, past and current job status, and two references.
