Wright – Cromwell News

By: Jrennie K. Hanson, Pine Journal

With this week’s writing I have three deaths to report.

First I heard from Janette Worgren. She relayed to me that Paul Lefebvre, 72, a 1959 Cromwell School graduate, died on Sept. 8, 2012, in Atlanta, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Angela, and daughter, Lynn.

Matt Wayne Matalamaki, 48, formerly of Floodwood, died on Jan. 6, 2013, in Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. A time of gathering was held at the Bemidji Elks Lodge on Jan. 12.

Edward “Ed” Lawrence Stayton, 87, formerly of Cromwell, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 11, at Inter-Faith Care, with spring burial in Hillside Cemetery, Carlton. Arrangements were with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home.

Our sympathy to all.

Sandy Nistler of McGregor asked me to tell you if you haven’t had the shingles vaccine, please, I urge you, go and get it! Anyone who has had chicken pox when they were little can get shingles. I talked to a lady at the drug store, she said her daughter was going into seventh grade, and she got them. So please, get the vaccine!

Have you noticed the well and water problems at our local Co-op Store in Wright? Well, (no pun intended) because of the June flooding, the well was damaged and so was the pump. A new well may have to be drilled this spring, but for the time being, the problem is fixed. Let’s hope it keeps working till further repairs can be made.

That’s all the news from Lake Hugachild and have a great week!
