Edward 'Ed' L. Stayton
Edward "Ed" Lawrence Stayton, 87, formerly of Cromwell, Minn., died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. He was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Santa Clara, Calif., to Clarence and Edith (Ridgeway) Stayton. Ed was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. Ed was united in marriage to Carroll McLellan on June 11, 1955, in San Jose, Calif. Ed enjoyed music, creative writing/poetry, drawing, antique automobiles and gardening.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Stayton.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Carroll Stayton of Carlton, Minn.; two sons, Leonard Stayton of Minneapolis, Minn., and Gilbert Stayton of Duluth, Minn.; one daughter, Mary Jo Stayton of Glendale, Ari.; one sister, Clara Campbell of Palm Bay, Fla.; and two nephews, William Campbell of Arkansas and James Campbell of San Jose.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Inter-Faith Care, Carlton, with spring burial in Hillside Cemetery, Carlton. To sign the guest book online, go to: www.hhkfuneralhome.com.
