Wright-Cromwell News

As I sit down to type the news this week, it is with a heavy heart. How could the lives of 26 innocent people be snuffed out in a matter of minutes in Connecticut last Friday? Being a teacher myself, this shooting really hits home with me. We are in school to protect our students and with a mad man in the building, how can we protect them all? There are so many questions that will never be answered, but I do feel that students are safe and that their teachers and staff always keep the kids safety a top priority.
Tim and Lori Olesiak’s son, Jacob, got married on “12/12/12” to Megan Miller in Lincoln, Neb. Jacob is a horse jockey.
There was a wonderful Christmas play presented at Bethany Lutheran on Dec. 16. “A Smoky Mountain Christmas” was put on by many community members and was very well received. Attending these types of events really puts one in the Christmas spirit, too. Now, all I have to do is get my home ready for Christmas.
I was in Floodwood last week and happened to pick up a calendar at Northview Bank. To my surprise, the calendar contained photographs of our area taken by area photographers. Those I knew were photos by John Grones and June Collman, so if you get a chance, pick up this calendar – it’s really beautiful.
