Letter to the Editor...There are good kids in Cloquet

To the Editor:

After all the devastating news about all the school shootings and other terrible things happening in this country, I had to tell you this story. My daughter is an eighth-grade student at Cloquet Middle School and was having a particularly bad day on Monday.

Tuesday when she arrived at school, there was a note that someone had put through the little vent in her locker and this is what was said... “Hey, I saw you crying yesterday in first hour. I just feel kinda bad and want to tell you that whatever you were sad about that you’ll make it through. You have friends that care for you even if you don’t know them.”

This little note made her day, and mine! It was unsigned but I just thought to myself that it’s nice to know there are still great kids out there! I thought what a nice random act of kindness...we could all learn a lesson here!
