A six-month-long rehabilitation project is nearing completion on the Highway 210 Bridge at Thomson. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in early December.
Completion of the project was delayed by severe flooding in June, which destroyed the bridge’s approaches and destroyed a 9-foot-diameter overflow culvert located adjacent to the bridge.
A new bridge has been constructed to replace the overflow culvert. When the St. Louis River is flowing at high volume, it can pass beneath the new bridge at far-greater volume than through the confines of a culvert.
