To the editor-Reader questions county business park

To the Editor:

In response to today’s editorial [in the Nov. 15 issue of the Pine Journal] about Carlton County moving forward with another industrial park. Is this why the county treasurer and commissioners want a 6.8 percent increase in next year’s budget? So they can waste more of the taxpayers’ money?

There are already two fairly new industrial parks (Esko and Cloquet) in the county. How many new businesses are waiting in line for a spot at one of those sites?

And what about the article from a few weeks ago concerning county workers “stealing” time and “borrowing” county equipment or tools? Has this been looked into? Or did the “good old boys” sweep this under the rug?
