Barnum (4-17) battled but was swept by Polar League rival Moose Lake-Willow River Tuesday in Barnum. The Bombers, losers of five of their past six contests, were led by Peyton Bushey, Lauren Hultgren and Sage Miletich in defeat.

Carlton (19-7) came up short in a 3-2 nonconference loss to Deer River Tuesday on the road. The Warriors snapped the Bulldogs’ previous four-match winning streak.

Cromwell-Wright (10-6) closed its regular season with a Polar League sweep of host Wrenshall Tuesday. The Cardinals broke back-to-back losses, led by Ann Collman’s multiple digs and Christina Stenson’s 100 percent serving.

Esko (18-8) eased past Polar League nemesis McGregor for a sweep Tuesday in McGregor. Winners of six of their last seven, the Eskomos scored behind Amanda Belden’s 14 kills to back Courtney Johnston’s 33 set assists.

Fond du Lac Ojibwe (13-3) obliterated Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School in a nonconference sweep Tuesday on the road. The Ogichidaa, winners of nine of their last 10, were jolted by Jaelisa Northrup, Faryn Wilson and Naazhe Sutten.

Moose Lake-Willow River (8-18) rolled past neighboring Barnum in a Polar League sweep Tuesday in Barnum. Snapping a former five-match losing mark, the Rebels were led by Miranda Jacobson, Haley Johnson and Adri Jusczak.

Wrenshall (3-13) was worn down and eventually swept by Polar League foe Cromwell-Wright Tuesday in Wrenshall. Sisters Chloe and Tatum Swanson and Delaney Kittel carried the Wrens, who have lost their previous dozen matches.

FDLTCC (3-14) fell short to Itasca in a Minnesota College Athletic Conference sweep Tuesday in Cloquet. In their final match of the fall, the Thunder, which beat Vermilion three times, were steered statistically by Kourtney Karppinen, Marita Yellowhammer, MaKayleigh Cahoon and setter Kaitlyn Psick.
