County farmers eligible for flood disaster assistance
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for flood assistance from agricultural producers in Minnesota counties severely impacted by the record rainfall in June.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for flood assistance from agricultural producers in Minnesota counties severely impacted by the record rainfall in June.
Carlton County is included in this disaster declaration. Losses may include, but are not limited to: feed and forage damages, damages to buildings, agricultural equipment losses, or other related farm damages including expenses for clean-up and debris removal.
The Carlton County Extension Office along with the Carlton County Soil and Water Conservation District will provide assistance in filling out these applications at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Barnum Community Center. Call the Extension Office at 218-384-3511 for a list of information that is needed to complete these forms.
