Nicholas A. "Crazy" Carlson, 29, of Nickerson, Minn., died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Nicholas A. "Crazy" Carlson, 29, of Nickerson, Minn., died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on May 24, 1983, in Moose Lake, Minn., where he grew up and graduated from Moose Lake High School in 2001. Crazy worked as an operator/laborer through the years and was currently employed by LaPointe Utilities. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and was always willing to help others.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fred Carlson; maternal grandparents, Ted and Verna Renschler; aunt and uncle, Beth and Dick Peterson; and an aunt, Regina Knittel.

Crazy will be forever remembered by the love of his life, Jen Mangan of Nickerson; father, Eugene (Peggy) Carlson of Brainerd, Minn.; mother, Verna "Jean" (Paul) Jeffers of Moose Lake; brother, Nathaniel (Erin Porter) Carlson of Brainerd; half- brother, Owen Carlson of Brainerd; step-brother, Dalton Schalz of Brainerd; step-sisters and step-brothers, Jessica (José) Mendez-Jeffers of Duluth, Minn., Clint (Krissy) Jeffers of St. Joseph, Minn., Cole Jeffers of Moose Lake, Caleb (Kristy) Jeffers of Omaha, Neb., and Jade Jeffers of Moose Lake; paternal grandmother, Catherine Carlson of Brainerd; step-grandmother, Elsie Jeffers of Barnum; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who were a very important part of his life.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Al and Hannah Hjelmberg residence in Sturgeon Lake, Minn. Burial is in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
