Christopher Michael East
Christopher Michael East, 26, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012. Chris was born in Brainerd, Minn., and graduated from Cloquet High School in 2004. Chris worked for Superior Security and Surveillance Systems in Chanhassen, Minn. He traveled the United States and marveled at all the beautiful sites. He soon realized how small the world really was and became much more appreciative of the "small town" in which he grew up. During his travels, Chris would seek out many of the featured restaurants on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and text pictures home of the famous food. He took the opportunity to be a "tourist" on his travels and shared many stories about the sites he and his co-workers saw, especially those with his cousin Andy.

Chris was a son to be proud of. He always had time to chat, especially when his mother would need a lift in her day. He was the sunshine when things seemed cloudy. He would simply say, "Get over it, mom, it's in the past!" He was a loving brother who didn't miss a chance at a bear hug and while slapping their backs in greeting say, "How are you, man?" Chris loved being in the outdoors. He especially loved the annual "guys fishing" trip or fall fishing trip with his parents where he secretly spied on his dad's (Dan) fishing techniques. He had a soft spot for his grandma (Kitty) Peterson and would do anything for her. He never missed a chance to say "I love you" before leaving or hanging up.
Chris lived for his music. If he wasn't spinning discs with his friends as DJ Train Wrek, he was writing lyrics and recording music. He so respected his brothers' opinions that he often sought them out to critique his creations. The love and laughter that he shared with his family and friends will be missed every day. Rest in peace, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and uncle. Until we meet again, we love you.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandpas, Bob Peterson and Johnny Peck, and grandma Shirley Pease.
He is survived by his parents, Kim (Dan) Pease and Matthew (Jasmin) East; brothers, Tyler (Heather) East, Nick Larson, Stefan Pease, Devin East and Zack East; sisters, Trena East and Vanessa East; grandmas, Kitty (Bob) Peterson and Agnes (Johnny) Peck; grandpa Carroll (Shirley) Pease; his niece, Kendra; nephew, Garrett; aunt, Roberta (John) McKee; uncles, Jim (Jill) Peterson, Charlie (Rhea) Peterson and Jack (Lindsey) Peterson; cousins, Andy and Kaela (Jayda), and Devon, Riley, Ryann and Rodney, and Riley, Katey and Clayton (Bubba), and Jake, Braedon, Aaron and Owen; and many other great-aunts and uncles too numerous to name.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life visitation from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet. There will not be a formal service.
