Fourth of July Cadence

It started with a sunny day

Then clouds rolled in and skies turned gray

Rains came down in steady sheets

Flooding homes and filling streets

Three straight days the rain did fall

When CIP received the call

We laced ‘em up and hit the door

As water serged beyond the shore

Shoulder to shoulder, side by side

Proud to show our civic pride

Five straight days the water rose

Families stranded, business closed

What a sight it was to see

Working like a family

Moms and daughters, dads and sons

Side by side, we got it done

We stepped right up to lend a hand

One thousand pounds of cold wet sand

CIP we’re on the track

Taking pride and giving back
