Our sincere sympathy to the family of Lil Evensen, 81, who died Aug. 8,2012. Lil grew up in the Wright area and has always kept close ties to the area. A memorial service was held Aug.12 at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Burial was Monday, Aug. 13, at Wright Catholic Cemetery.

Lake Country Power will host three member appreciation days in picnic style: from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 at the Remer Outpost, Aug. 22 at the Cook Outpost and Aug. 23 at the McGregor Outpost. The McGregor outpost is located next to Floe International on Highway 65.

Don’t forget to put the Cromwell Community Harvest Fest on your calendar of events. It will take place Friday, Sept. 7, with the Steak Fry and continue on Saturday with the regular schedule of events. Look for posters for the complete schedule of events.

Once again, the Cromwell Harvest Festival Parade will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 am. Entries of all types are welcome – tractors, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, horses, dogs, animals, walkers, riders, clowns, bands (marching and riding), musicians, businesses, hospitals, clinics, homes for the aging, organizations, schools, churches, clubs, political candidates and, of course, our area fire departments and ambulance services. Use your imagination and creativity and compete for one of three cash prizes donated by Northview Bank of Cromwell. We usually have about 40-plus entries in our parade, but our goal is more, and we want to see you out there! If you would like more information, contact Rob or Deb Switzer at 218-644-3780. Parade entry forms will be available at the registration/line-up area at the Cromwell School at 9:30 a.m.

There will be a 95th birthday celebration for Arnold Dahl on Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Sno-Gopher building in Cromwell from 2-5 p.m. Come and join Arnold and family for birthday cake and coffee. If you are not able to attend, cards can be sent to him at 6646 Tam Acres Road, Wright, MN 55798. Let’s try to get him at least 95 cards.

If anyone knows of someone who has recently moved into the community with school-aged children, please contact the school to get their children registered for the fall. Call 218-644-3716 Ext. 1000, 1001 or 1002. School begins Tuesday, Sept. 4.
