Kristi Swanson, D.O., has earned “Outstanding Intern of the Year” for 2011-2012 from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences as part of her internal medicine residency program. She just completed the first of three years of residency. Swanson earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2011, a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in 2004, and is a 2000 graduate of Barnum High School. Swanson is the daughter of Clifford and Renee Swanson of Barnum, and the granddaughter of Jim and Verna Flynn of Esko and Louise Swanson of Barnum.

Paul Knoedler of Saginaw earned a Master of Science degree from the University of North Dakota during summer commencement exercises on Friday, Aug. 3.

Reid Ellingson of Cloquet and David Lindlbauer of Esko graduated from Northern Michigan University in May 2012. Ellingson graduated magna cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. Lindlbauer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.
