I am a past president of Friends of Animals Humane Society. I, and several other people in the organization, was deeply concerned that there was no place in Carlton County to put stray animals. It was at that time when Bruce Ahlgren was the incumbent running for mayor of Cloquet.
Among his many other accomplishments as mayor, he helped get a much needed Animal Shelter in Cloquet. I might add the Shelter is full almost all the time with dogs and cats. Other species besides cat and species have been rescued too. We were then, and are now, Friends of ALL Animals. We took in rabbits, ferrets, lizards, and even a goat one time who decided he didn't want to stay home. (He escaped twice.)
Bruce promised to help get an animal shelter, and it was done! Don't forget he also promised to help get a Senior Citizen Center, and he did that, too!
Bruce was a keeper then and is a keeper now! He's got my vote!!
