County seeks nominations for Outstanding Senior Citizen

Nominations from county residents are now being sought for the 2012 Outstanding Senior Citizen Award for Carlton County. The award recognizes outstanding senior citizens who have contributed their time and talent to benefit their community after reaching the age of 65. They will be honored Friday, Aug. 17, at the Carlton County Fair in Barnum.

Official nomination forms are available by contacting Volunteer Services of Carlton County, Inc. The forms need to be filled out and returned to Volunteer Services of Carlton County by Friday, Aug. 3. The address is 1219 –14th St., Ste. D, Cloquet, MN 55720.

Winners at the county level will move on to compete at the state level at the Minnesota State Fair. For more information, call Volunteer Services at 218-879-9238.
