Marian Margaruite Schlichting

Marian M. Schlichting of Cloquet, Minn., daughter of Caroline (Fulton) and Roy E. Golden, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born in Bowlus, Minn. A loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was known for her beauty, youthfulness, humor, quick wit, delicious meals and outstanding cooking skills, work ethic and deep devotion to her family.

Marian's laughter, jokes and love will be greatly missed by daughters Nan Brenny of Roswell, Ga., Kathy (Tim) Setterquist of Cloquet, Shari (Ben) Horton of McGregor, Minn., and son Larry Lee of Hamilton, Ohio; and by her grandchildren, Lori, Todd, Ryan, Tim, Shane, Christopher, Terrah, Kris, Amy, Sean, Brandon, Tyler and Laine; along with her 10 great-grandchildren; a very special angelic friend and sister-in-law, Cathy Golden; brother-in-law, Frank Zimmerman; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Loretta Steed, Esther Lisak, Tilly Zimmerman and Erma Golden; brothers Clifford (Bob) and Fritz Golden; and by her former spouse and loving friend, Vern Schlichting.

The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the staff at Inter-Faith Care Center for their compassion, care, love and kindness bestowed upon their mother.

Services will be held Saturday, July 28, at Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave., Cloquet, with a 10 a.m. visitation followed by the 11 a.m. memorial service. Inurnment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship room.
