Jason Peterson is Community Memorial Hospital’s new Supervisor of Environmental Services.
Peterson is a native of Mahtowa and a graduate of Barnum High School. He attended college in Jamestown, N.D., before finding employment in the Twin Cities area. His past positions include division manager of Xerox, associate pastor, as well as teacher and administrator of a private school. He has also worked at a children’s home in Duluth.
Peterson holds the belief that communication is critical when supervising a group of employees. Since starting at Community Memorial Hospital/Sunnyside Health Care Center, he has made it a practice each morning to make the rounds and do a “walk through” where he talks to each employee in his department. He said the reason for this face-to-face communication is because, “I am interested in what they are doing and I want to see that they are equipped to do their job.”
As Environmental Services supervisor, Peterson is responsible for 34 employees.
